MPS microgrid hybrid inverter refers to: a comprehensive energy storage device that connects to photovoltaic modules and battery systems and supports on-grid and off-grid operation and automatic switching. It is mainly composed of several parts such as integrated photovoltaic controller, energy storage converter pcs, isolation transformer, on-grid and off-grid switching switch STS, EMS (optional).

 1. Working Principle

When sunlight shines on photovoltaic modules, photovoltaic modules use the photoelectric effect to convert light energy into direct current (DC). The generated DC is converted into alternating current (AC) by MPS to meet the power demand of the power grid or users. Excess electricity will be stored in the built-in energy storage battery system, such as lithium-ion batteries or lead-acid batteries. 3. Special features

3.1. Anti-island protection

When a grid failure occurs, MPS automatically detects and disconnects the energy storage system to prevent the energy storage system from continuing to supply power to the local grid to form an "island" and cause damage to the grid and its maintainers.

3.2. Anti-reverse flow function

Prevents the power output of the battery or the excess power of photovoltaic power generation from flowing to the grid. MPS has a built-in CT current transformer, which can detect the current direction and size of the grid and pass this information to the inverter controller. If the current direction flows to the grid, the inverter will immediately perform anti-reverse flow control.

3.3. Seamless on-grid and off-grid switching

MPS supports seamless automatic on-grid and off-grid switching (on-grid and off-grid switching time<20ms). When the grid voltage or frequency is detected to be abnormal, MPS will switch from on-grid mode to off-grid mode. During the switching period, MPS can continue to supply power to the load.

3.4. Applicable scenarios

Whether it is an uninhabited isolated island, a remote mountainous area far from the power grid, or industrial electricity with strong inductive loads, or even backup power for projects with large power demand such as farms/hospitals/data centers/frozen warehouses/shopping malls, various models of MPS can meet them one by one.
